"Bright Women" Art Show

Bright Women celebrates and values the lives of women here in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, MX.
This is an empowering project that will be exposed as a public art piece in the form of a billboard in the heart of the city.
The design will be equal to popular contemporary advertisement, but instead of advertising a product,
this billboard will elevate the upward mobility of women in this global economy.

Bright Women’s various visual narratives will explore the gender, class and cultural identity issues related to
immigration and border politics by employing metaphorical imagery and iconography drawn from personal experience,
and the documentary investigation of the informal female economies.
The body of work includes 2 public art billboards, 10 photographs, 5 billboard designs, 1 video, and 1 installation.

The artist integrated herself in both working border crossing communities. Collecting images and items from
the ambulant female workers on the bridge, and the flea market women workers across the bridge.
The content of the visual research was recorded with an archeological direction geared towards the art show.
